Write Off's self-deprecating lyrics are plagued with negative self-talk, which inspired me to illustrate a literal feedback loop. Following the physically impossible circuit, the microphone's signal traverses through multiple "loads" in the form of music production gear, before outputting into a speaker cone facing the microphone.
A few nostalgic elements such as the "Cool S", America Online logo, and the universally-recognized playground symbol for "loser" fill in the gaps and genty nod to the transitional generation Adam and I grew up in.
